The Pont du Gard is a Roman aqueduct with three levels, located between Uzès and Nîmes. It spans the Gardon river, or Gard.
A beautiful spot for a short or a long walk, it is also possible to swim in the Gardon, or to canoe on the river all the way from Collias.
Probably built in the first half of the 1st century, it ensured the continuity of the Roman aqueduct that led the water from Uzès to Nîmes.
The Pont du Gard is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
Many events, festivals, shows and concerts are offered at Pont du Gard.
